Write winning proposals

Format: 3.5 days classroom based, with online elements before and after the face to face training

In this course you will learn how to write, manage and negotiate a winning proposal. You will improve your proposal writing skills through exercises on real proposals, case-studies from the world’s leading donors and learn together in small groups. Before and after the course, you benefit from our online learning offers.

After this course, you will know how to

  • Find the right funding opportunities
  • Make clear Go/No-Go decisions
  • Design an effective team-based writing process
  • Apply the logframe to bring a convincing structure to your proposal
  • Write better text and convincing budgets
  • Understand (and beat) the donor’s appraisal process and criteria
  • Negotiate confidently with donors
  • Write effective budgets
  • Listen to live guest speakers from USAID, European Commission, Business Development Experts and NGO leaders (subject to availability)

All our trainers have at least 15 years experience in proposal writing and business development, and can adapt the course content to your individual needs. Learning is team based, interactive and delivered in English.

Structure and Well-being

We will share the detailed agenda, location details and pre-study a few weeks before the course starts.

Learning happens best when it is supported by a good diet and exercise. Refreshments will be available throughout the day, and a group lunch (included) served each day.

Accommodation, Visa and Cancelation policy

Please note that accommodation is not included. We can offer discounted accommodation in some locations – please just ask us. Upon request and only after the complete booking, we can provide a letter of confirmation that you are registered to attend an MzN training.

Our fair cancellation policy is: 100% refund less transfer cost (if any) if canceled 60 days before course start, 50% refund if canceled between 30 and 60 days, no refund if canceled less than 30 days before or no-show. Should a national emergency, like Covid, be declared, then we will refund all course fees within 10 days. All refunds may be subject to bank transfer fees.

This course is for everyone who wants to be better at proposal writing and win funds. It does not matter if you are a career starter or seasoned professional. Participants come from NGOs of all sizes and around the world.
